Please note although this is a flat 'easy going' ride, the towpath is quite narrow in parts and will require riders to be confident in handling their bike - as such it is not suitable for very young children unless in child seats or tag-alongs. As the towpath has been recently resurfaced, the route is suitable for all types of bike.
Although helmets are not compulsory (except for those under 18yrs old), we strongly recommend wearing one due to some low bridges along the way! Please ensure your bike is in roadworthy condition and you'll also need to bring a spare inner tube and pump in case of a puncture and dress according to the weather on the day.
We welcome all considerate cyclists to our towpaths and you don't need a permit. However, make sure you check out our TOWPATH CODE before you take to the towpaths.
For those arriving by car, be aware the basin will be busy on the day with only limited parking available at Draper's Fields. There is alternative car parking nearby at the NCP car park at Belgrade Plaza (charges apply) - feel free to drop your bike off with us first if you wish.
There will be access to a toilet but no changing facilities.
