We asked people from all over the city to write blogs about why they think Coventry deserves to be UK City of Culture 2021.
Even though we’ve now won, it’s still really good to hear about what people think our city has to offer and why 2021 is going to be the most incredible year.
If you would like to write a blog please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Unearth Coventry’s History at the City’s Archives
Archives of the city
Coventry's year as City of Culture in 2021 is a great opportunity to highlight the fantastic archive material held by organisations in the city – records that tell stories about the history of the area, including its heritage and culture.
The archives relate to civic life, business and industry, leisure, people and communities, politics, education, and much more. They can be used for many research purposes – such as school or college projects, university dissertations, family history, or the story of a house or location.
Access to records is usually free, but some items won’t be available because of data protection or confidentiality issues. Always check before you go to look at archives about opening times, proof of identity that you may need, copying charges, and any restrictions that may apply.
Here are a few details on locations in Coventry where archives are held.
