ARTIST ON MY STREET: PHASE 2

Winter 2021-2022

Various venues across Coventry and Warwickshire

As Coventry and Warwickshire residents light up their streets for Window Wanderland, 21 artists have been commissioned to transform windows in residential areas across the region.

Coventry Artspace has given bursaries to 21 artists to create work for local communities. This project is inspired by the artists all over the world who have found ways to bring moments of light to their neighbourhoods during the pandemic by sharing their work in windows, balconies and on the streets.

Artists will be featured on the Artspace website and audio recordings about the artwork will be shared on the Echoes audio app so that visitors can find out more about them and their practice. The work will be professionally photographed and promoted through Coventry Artspace and Coventry City of Culture Trust social media channels. The project is funded by Arts Council England, The National Lottery Community Fund, Coventry City Council and Coventry City of Culture Trust (CCCT) and builds on the Window Wanderland trails led by CCCT in 2021.

Confirmed Phase 2 artists are:

Bibi Asmahiel at the Refugee and Migrant Centre, Norton House, CV1 5FX

Caitriona Dunnett at the Ken Kenneth Community Centre, Stratford upon Avon, CV37 0DA

Daniel Pryde-Jarman & Jane Ball at the Starley Housing Co-operative, Vicroft Court

WINDOW WANDERLAND IMAGE GALLERY

From 20 February to 19 March 2021, streets across Coventry and Warwickshire lit up their front windows and gardens and became beautiful walking trails. Thanks to support from The National Lottery Community Fund, we worked with amazing people across the city who were determined to get their local communities involved.

Window Wanderland is part of #LoveCoventry, a Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 programme funded by the National Lottery Community Fund
