A multicultural festival bringing communities together.

On Saturday 14 August, join us in Riley Square as it transforms into a marketplace of music, art and food, sharing Eastern European cultures with people of all ages and backgrounds.

Led by local organisation New Start 4 U CIC, who support migrants in Coventry, the day will also include a range of art and photography activities for children and young people aged 6 to 16.

Works from Eastern European artists will be on display, as well as photography and artwork created in workshops with local people in the lead up to the big day. Residents of all backgrounds living in and around Riley Square will be at the heart of the event.

Enjoy delicious Eastern European food and drink catered by local businesses, and get involved in some gardening as we plant beautiful flowers around the square.

No ticket needed - just walk up at any time throughout the day.

ACTIVITIES

Here’s a flavour of what you can enjoy on the day:

  • Enjoy delicious Eastern European food and drink catered by local businesses.

  • Get involved in some urban gardening as we plant beautiful flowers around the square.

  • A photo booth and an audio booth where you can take free self-portraits and can record your stories - designed for adults and children.

  • Urban takeover of art and photography exhibitions.

  • Bespoke poetry written on the spot just for you in Polish and English.

  • Face-painting and arts activities for children and lots more.

  • Live music until 9pm.

This event is part of #LoveCoventry, a Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 programme funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
