Schools Resources

Our schools resources page contains a host of learning packs, supporting films and CPD materials generated as part of the Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 Programme.

Coventry Moves Resources

The following resources were produced to support Coventry Moves, the Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 launch event. Pupils were asked to design flags and banners responding to the six major themes of Coventry Moves. The resources give ideas for both pupils and teachers on creating artwork in the cutout style of Henri Matisse.

View the three films of artists and students below, taking you through the Flag Design process for Coventry Moves, including tips on getting inspiration alongside practical hints.

Coventry Atlas

Coventry City of Culture Trust is delighted to be partnering with Coventry University to create Coventry Atlas.

The Coventry Atlas website presents digitised maps of the city across time, together with photographs of the pre-war and post-war city.

Coventry Atlas Website

It aims to present an accurate view of the past by geo-rectifying and by relating locations on the map to photographs and drawings, of which there are numerous examples to explore.

Dedicated Resources for schools are available on the site, including the learning pack example below.

The Coventry City of Culture Trust are partnering with The University of Warwick to launch a creative toolkit to help discuss the issue of Homelessness within the curriculum.

Homelessness is an urgent social issue. Understanding Homelessness: A Creative Toolkit is an educational resource containing information, real-life stories, things to discuss and suggestions for exercises to develop written, visual and drama-based responses that could be used for Active Citizenship, PSHE, Tutor Time and within the curriculum.

The Toolkit - aimed at teachers, youth groups and other voluntary organizations working with young people aged 14 and above, is designed to help you to help others to approach the complex issues around homelessness.

The Toolkit is based on a pilot board game developed during a collaboration between Coventry University, CU Coventry and the University of Warwick, working in partnership with Coventry Cyrenians.
