In early 2022, streets across Coventry and Warwickshire will once again light up their front windows and gardens and become beautiful night-time walking trails.

Window Wanderland can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities, so everyone on your street can get involved.

HOW CAN I TAKE PART?
  • Find out which two weeks your street is taking part.
  • Register your address on your area's Window Wanderland page (links below).
  • Make a display in your window or garden.
  • Get your neighbours involved and encourage them to make their own display.
  • Go outside to see everyone’s creations using the trail map on your area's Window Wanderland page – it’s going to be magical.

Schools can get involved too.

ARTIST ON MY STREET

As part of Window Wanderland, Coventry Artspace have commissioned 21 artists to transform windows in residential areas across the region. Click here to find out more.

GET INVOLVED

Each area of Coventry is designated two weeks to have their window designs on display. Click the link for your area to visit your area page and register. Check our Google Map if you're not sure what your area is.

WHAT CAN I DO NOW?

Speak to your neighbours, local residents’ group, faith group, school parents’ committee or student committee about how you’ll spread the word in your building or area. Last time, some streets chose a theme - your theme could be anything, from ‘the history of Coventry’ to Squid Game!

Window displays can be made from anything you can find around the house: for example, newspaper, cereal boxes, fairy lights or cuddly toys. Closer to the time, we’ll be holding workshops with some top tips on how to use materials you have to hand.

GOOD TO KNOW

What's the theme in my area?

The residents themselves decide the theme for their street or neighbourhood. It's optional, however, and most areas don't have a theme. If there is no information about themes on your area's Window Wanderland webpage, that means one hasn't been decided, so you can do your own thing.

How can I spread the word?

Our online resource pack contains copy, images and printable posters. You can also pick up a bundle of A5 flyers and A4 posters at the UK City of Culture Shop on Hertford St. Just ask at the till, and make sure you request posters with the correct dates for your area.

I'm unable to buy the materials for my display.

That's okay, window displays can be made from anything you can find around the house: for example, newspaper, cereal boxes, fairy lights or cuddly toys.

My street isn't covered by the map.

If your area isn't registered, you're still welcome to take part. We'd love to see photos of your display on social media. If you live near an area that is registered, you can still add your display to their map. The more the merrier.
