Try It! - Anybody Can Drum is a 10-week course. We recommend that you attend all 10 sessions. However, if you have to miss one, that’s okay - you don’t need to book for all sessions in advance.

No prior experience is required to join the course. We welcome you and your friends to have some fun and Try It! this autumn.

Guideline Age Range: 18+

WITH MAHANDRA PATEL

Do you want to explore rhythms from around the world through drums?

Across ten weeks, we’ll explore your cultural backgrounds, finding your native drums/rhythms and sharing with each other, fusing rhythms from around the world.

This will then culminate into a performance that we will share with Coventry showing the local population what we have on our doorstep.

The club is suitable for people over the age of 18 particularly with long term illness/isolated/stroke sufferers/mental health/autism and people from other countries. Rhythms and cultural activities help with general wellbeing – and help you meet new people.

  • WEEKLY MEET UP: TUESDAYS
  • START DATE: 5 OCTOBER 2021
  • TIME: 1.30pm – 2.30pm
  • VENUE: BROAD STREET HALL (CV6 5BG)
  • Please note that the fifth session will take place on Thu 4 Nov, not Tue 2 Nov.

Tickets cost £2 per person or £3 for two people (bring a buddy!)

WHAT IS TRY IT?

Try It! is a programme encouraging Coventry residents to have a go at a range of new, and often quirky, health-giving creative activities during our year as UK City of Culture.

We believe in social prescribing – the idea that, by taking part in community activities, we can all improve our health and wellbeing.

This project aims to enhance the lives of community members and leave a lasting legacy of creative activities in Coventry.

For each workshop, you can book tickets online or pay at the door.
