Activities and events labelled as 'Taking Place In Cov 2021' have not been produced or commissioned by Coventry City of Culture Trust but are taking place during the City of Culture year.

The Jigsaw of History Tour takes participants on a walk all over the city centre of Coventry, a city which has kept making history by inventing the future.

It’s a history that includes the civil war and civil rights, it’s a history of a city that has moved from being the world-leading pioneer in one industry to another, then another, it’s a rich cultural history of a city which has kept on reinventing itself, finally rising like a phoenix from the firestorm of the Blitz. It’s a history that fits together like a jigsaw, come and explore it with us.

This tour will take place almost completely outside and involves just over two miles of walking. Tours are estimated to last two and a half hours, but can take longer depending on the size and speed of the group and how many questions are asked during the tour. Walks will take place in pretty much any weather, though please note there are uneven surfaces and cobbles along the route which can be slippery.

You will meet your guide in Broadgate (CV1 1NE), between the clock and Godiva's statue, with the location marked on Google Maps as "Sky Blue City Walks". The guide will be wearing a Sky Blue top hat and tailcoat and carrying a Coventry flag.

Broadgate is less than 15 minutes walk from Coventry Railway Station, and a couple of minutes from the bus stands on Trinity Street and five minutes from Pool Meadow Bus Station. The nearest car park is Salt Lane CV1 2GY and the nearest bike hire docking station is on Ironmonger Row, CV1 1FD.

A limited number of tickets are reserved for walk-up customers and are available from your guide at the start point on the day. Please check www.facebook.com/SkyBlueCityWalks for latest details and availability. More information about both the Jigsaw of History Tour and Godiva's Cathedral Quarter walk can be found at www.skybluecitywalks.com/faqs.
