NO TICKET NEEDED - JUST WALK UP!

On Saturday 14 August, head to Holbrooks Park for Party on the Green, a FREE neighbourhood celebration for all the family.

A giant mirror ball will appear above the sports court (Multi-Use-Games-Area - MUGA), transforming it into a performance space and a dancefloor. A DJ Truck will spin some tunes throughout the day and then we’ll have a Silent Disco Party - and don’t forget your skates if you fancy a roller disco!

You’ll also encounter unexpected walkabout performances as you explore the park, and watch local group Ascension Dance, who will perform and run a half-hour workshop for you to learn more about their style and practice.

The car park will transform into a dining space where you can enjoy street food and watch performances of Leamington-based Motionhouse’s Wild.

Come and relax on the grass with a picnic, pick up some delicious street food, and bring all your family and friends for this incredible celebration on your doorstep. Come on down and party with us!

A pre-allocation of tickets made available for local residents is now sold out, but there's plenty of room at Party on the Green even if you don't have a ticket - we're here until 9.30pm, so show up any time.

THE PERFORMANCES

Motionhouse: WILD

Motionhouse bring their daring dance-circus performance, WILD, to Holbrook! WILD creates an urban forest in the everyday of the city, and using powerful and dynamic choreography, acrobatic movement and hand-to-hand acrobatics, the dancers climb up into the canopy, looking down onto the forest floor – a dangerous world of unknown meetings. This performance will have audio description available, accessible through scanning a QR code on the day. Please bring a smartphone and – if you would like – headphones.

Simple Cypher: Roll Play

Prepare to be amazed by the explosive tricks and artful dexterity of Simple Cypher's newest outdoor production Roll Play. Three performers blur the boundaries between hip hop and circus, using intricate moves and virtuosic agility to give a captivating, cheeky and effortlessly cool performance.

Ascension Dance: The Other Side

Coventry-based Ascension Dance bring their unique high-velocity performance style to Holbrook Park, in a fast-paced show which blends parkour, street, contemporary and engineering!

Round in Circles: Sparky Cat Club

Dance like you only have 9 lives! A fun and engaging dance party for all the family, where lost cats get found and everyone can express their inner-pussycat. Dance all the crazes like crazy with Round in Circles’ Disco-cats, Krazy Kittens and Toe-Tapping Tigers who will take you on a prowl through Retro Disco Dance tunes from nostalgic days gone by! This event will be BSL interpreted.

Bubble Disco Party

Boogie amongst the bubbles! Watch in amazement as our bubble performer gets the party started and created thousands of bubbles in all shapes and sizes to a disco beat!

Kitsch n Sync: Disco Critters and Hair Rollers

Join in and strut your best moves alongside Disco Critters on the dance floor – enjoy a dance with your friends, family and our herd of mirror ball clad animals! Keep your eyes peeled for the Hair Rollers too - these 50’s style hairdressers are on a roll! Armed with quirky choreography and toe-tapping tunes, bring your skates and join the fun!

Drum n Bounce

Take a heap of energy, whip up some classic aerobic moves then add in some drum & bass and voila…you have the perfect session! Drum n bounce gets you simultaneously sweating and smiling - if you’ve got an appetite to dance your way through basslines then they are the class for you! With both low and high impact options, you can dance within your fitness capabilities. The emphasis is on having fun and moving to the beat! This workshop will be BSL interpreted.

DJ Truck & Silent Disco

Our modified DJ Truck will be in the park throughout the day, providing the soundtrack to your Party in the Park! We’ll close the day with a silent disco party – sequins and sparkles encouraged! - featuring some of the acts you’ll have seen perform earlier!

STAYING SAFE

We understand that government is intending to lift all restrictions on Covid from 19 Jul which is great for people wanting to enjoy Party on the Green, an outdoor event in our local parks. We also recognise that not all of our audiences might feel comfortable with that just yet. You may still see some of our staff wearing masks and you’ll be welcome to wear yours too. We also know that not everybody will feel okay about lifting restrictions on distancing, and so we thank you in advance for being mindful and respectful of others while you’re on site. For your safety and ours, we will be regularly testing our staff and performers and maintaining a good cleaning regime.

We still ask that if you have any Covid symptoms, you please do not attend Party on the Green. We look forward to welcoming you in August.
