Our pre-allocation of tickets for local residents has sold out, but there's plenty of room at Party on the Green even if you don't have a ticket - we're here until 9.30pm, so show up any time.

On Sunday 15 August, head to the John White Community Centre Playing Field for Party on the Green, a FREE neighbourhood celebration for all the family.

For one afternoon only, the green space will be transformed with music, dance and giant puppets from local and national companies. Combined with brilliant neighbourhood community performances, there’s something for all ages to enjoy.

Join the animals of Claybrookes Marsh as they come out to a Garden Party like no other! Enjoy a programme of activities including animal-themed arts and crafts, a silent disco with family-friendly playlists and a DJ truck right on your doorstep.

Come and relax on the grass with a picnic, pick up some delicious street food, and bring all your family and friends for this fantastic local celebration. Come on down and party with us!

A limited allocation of free advance tickets was made available to local residents from 6 July. If you didn't get a ticket, that’s okay - walk ups are encouraged on the day and all are welcome.

ABOUT OPUS

STAYING SAFE

We understand that government is intending to lift all restrictions on Covid from 19 Jul which is great for people wanting to enjoy Party on the Green, an outdoor event in our local parks. We also recognise that not all of our audiences might feel comfortable with that just yet. You may still see some of our staff wearing masks and you’ll be welcome to wear yours too. We also know that not everybody will feel okay about lifting restrictions on distancing, and so we thank you in advance for being mindful and respectful of others while you’re on site. For your safety and ours, we will be regularly testing our staff and performers and maintaining a good cleaning regime.

We still ask that if you have any Covid symptoms, you please do not attend Party on the Green. We look forward to welcoming you in August.

GOOD TO KNOW

I don’t have a ticket. Can I still attend?

Yes. There’s plenty of room at Party on the Green – you don't need a ticket needed. Join us at any time, bring your family and friends, and enjoy quality performances on a summer’s day. Re-entry is permitted.

Is everyone welcome at Party on the Green?

Party on the Green is primarily for local residents, but all are welcome to join the fun.

What if it rains?

The event is entirely outdoors, and will still take place in wet weather.

Do I need to print my ticket?

You do not need to print your tickets, please show on a device if possible.

Where can I park?

Please do not drive to the event unless you need to – please either use public transport, cycle or walk. The events take place in residential areas where there is no public parking. If you require blue badge parking, please email: [email protected]

Is it suitable for children?

Yes. The event is family friendly and suitable for all ages, there are acts programmed suitable for everyone.

Can I bring a picnic?

Yes. You are welcome to bring your own picnics, however please note alcohol is not permitted on site.

Can I still walk my dog at the park?

Please note that the half of the recreation ground nearest to the community centre will be closed from 06:00-22:00 on the day. This is to allow us ample time to set up and pack away safely, but there won’t be any loud work taking place in the early hours. There will be no access to the park via Penarth Grove or Coombe Avenue unless attending the event. The remaining half of the park will still be accessible for dog walkers and general public, accessed as normal via Pontypool Avenue and Abergavenny Walk.
