This Christmas, CineCov are screening the American post-war classic, It’s a Wonderful Life, at London Road Cemetery’s Anglican Chapel in partnership with Coventry Historic Trust.
Nominated for five Oscars, including Best Picture, the film is helmed by cinema legend, Frank Capra, and stars beloved Hollywood everyman, Jimmy Stewart, as George Bailey, a suicidal man who has given up his personal dreams in order to help others in his community. Loosely based on A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, George Bailey’s desperation is intervened by his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody, played by Henry Travers.
It’s a Wonderful Life, as the title suggests, is a life affirming classic, with director, Frank Capra, bringing his famed craftsmanship to the screen, combining romance, humour and pathos so beautiful and so memorably, it never fails to warm hearts and inspire love and goodwill.
