Activities and events labelled as 'Taking Place In Cov 2021' have not been produced or commissioned by Coventry City of Culture Trust but are taking place during the City of Culture year.

Come and walk around the historical epicentre of Coventry.

Join us and learn more not only about the legend and historical significance of Godiva and the story of the three cathedrals of Coventry, but also find out about how Coventry was involved in the Gunpowder plot, what happened to Coventry Castle, where the name ‘Coventry’ might have come from, and many of the exciting new additions to the Cathedral Quarter that have arrived for City of Culture.

This tour will take place completely outside and involves just under one mile of walking. Under normal circumstances, the tour will go through the cathedral ruins, but this may not be possible due when other events are being held there. Tours are estimated to last two hours, but can take longer depending on the size and speed of the group and how many questions are asked during the tour. Walks will take place in pretty much any weather, though please note there are uneven surfaces and cobbles along the route which can be slippery.

You will meet your guide in Broadgate (CV1 1NE), between the clock and Godiva's statue, with the location marked on Google Maps as "Sky Blue City Walks". The guide will be wearing a Sky Blue top hat and tailcoat and carrying a Coventry flag.

Broadgate is less than 15 minutes walk from Coventry Railway Station, and a couple of minutes from the bus stands on Trinity Street and five minutes from Pool Meadow Bus Station. The nearest car park is Salt Lane CV1 2GY and the nearest bike hire docking station is on Ironmonger Row, CV1 1FD.

A limited number of tickets are reserved for walk-up customers and are available from your guide at the start point on the day. Please check www.facebook.com/SkyBlueCityWalks for latest details and availability. More information about both the Jigsaw of History Tour and Godiva's Cathedral Quarter walk can be found at www.skybluecitywalks.com/faqs.

Please note: Due to Coventry Glides, walks will not be able to enter the Cathedral Ruins for the remainder of 2021
