These pieces were created by writers engaged in the City Voices programme who we’ve worked with on Faith, and explore themes central to the project. City Voices is a writing programme supporting professional and non-professional Coventry writers creating work to be included as part of Coventry City of Culture major events.

Faith is co-produced by Coventry City of Culture Trust and the Royal Shakespeare Company with City Voices and Coventry faith communities.

Alex and Sean are a newly married couple who have moved to Coventry from Ireland in the 1970s. They each speak with their priest about adjusting to life in Coventry, from the unusual food to the generalisations made about their identity.

The Church of Unconditional Love

Performed by an actor, the piece features a fictional street preacher who claims space in Broadgate and asks people to stop and consider what they want from their lives, and what they truly need. Inviting them to take part in a fictional meeting to consider joining the Church of Unconditional Love.

Birthday Gifts – A Visual Installation
