A CPD opportunity for Teachers of students in Year 5 and 6 led by Punchdrunk Enrichment, the community and school focussed charity formed from the award-winning international theatre company Punchdrunk. Take your students on a magical journey in this local geography and literacy project for primary schools.
In this interactive session participants will be introduced to a series of tools and techniques to help learners improve literacy through film. Tools include the 3Cs (character, colour, camera) and 3Ss (story, setting, sound), which build teachers' abilities to help their learners contextualise and decode film. Learning key literacy skills such as inference, deduction and analysis which can be applied to film and other texts.
This interactive session is designed to build educator confidence in using filmmaking as a tool for learning. Beginning with the analysis of film texts, the session's activities include filmmaking and stop-motion animation.
