From the moment of its destruction by bombing in 1940 Coventry Cathedral spoke about forgiveness and reconciliation. In 1965 the “most unassailably Christian enterprise we have ever undertaken” (Provost Williams) began one Sunday morning in the Cathedral when 29 young volunteers were sent out to Dresden to work to rebuild the Deaconesses Hospital that had been ruined in the Dresden firestorm bombing of 1945. The volunteers made a film record of their work. This evening there is a rare opportunity to see that archive film footage and to meet and share the experiences of some of those volunteers.
