Where does poetry take you? How can a poem unlock your city’s past, present and future? How do you tell your stories through poetry?

Celebrate the art of the spoken word as we come together to listen, discuss and share a collective love for all things poetry.

• Original poetry sets by locally based poets of all ages
• Expert academics share the latest research into the importance of poetry and poems on culture
• Sneak preview performances from poets taking part in in the BBC’s ‘Contains Strong Language’ poetry festival
• Interactive discussions on the role of poetry in uniting and empowering our communities at important moments in time

Be inspired by the written and spoken word at this special event in the setting of a Victorian sideshow-style theatre.

Everyone attending will receive a limited edition ‘Poetry Pocket’, produced by Theatre Absolute, full of goodies to encourage everyone to give poetry writing a go.
