If Lady Godiva were alive today, what would she ride for?
We’re calling on the people of Coventry to nominate their modern-day Lady Godiva, someone you know who is making a difference in Coventry.
Our judging panel will select 12 women – defined as anyone who self-identifies as a woman - to appear as part of a significant moment in Coventry’s UK City of Culture programme.
Almost 1,000 years ago, Lady Godiva rode through the streets of Coventry to stand up for tenants who didn’t have a voice. If she rode today, who or what would she stand up for?
We want to hear about Coventry women you know who make a difference in their neighbourhood, workplace, faith group, community group – or all over the city. They could be aged 16 to 116. They could be a lifelong activist or they could have done something kind for a loved one during lockdown. Lady Godiva fought for change, and women of all backgrounds across the city continue her legacy today.
Click ‘NOMINATE NOW’ to fill out our quick online form. We’ll ask you to give us your contact details and tell us about the woman you are nominating. You can either write 100-300 words about the woman you’re nominating, or you can upload a 2-minute audio or video clip of you talking about them.
DEADLINE EXTENDED: Nominations close on Thursday 25 February at 23:59.
