CastAway is a new, environmentally led outdoor spectacle from Highly Sprung, designed to challenge our ‘Throw Away Society’.
Presented as part of a year-long collaboration with Canal & River Trust, CastAway is a response to the devastating effect that plastic pollution is having on our canals and waterways, and uses the power of street performance to highlight this global issue to audiences of all ages.
Through a combination of engineering, imagination and movement Highly Sprung will deliver a passionate and environmentally connected display to bring awareness, promote debate and ultimately, make change.
Highly Sprung are known for their physical theatre productions including Urban Astronaut, which has been touring since 2014, Roots and their 2019 Great Places project HOME celebrating all that is HOME in Coventry in the lead up to the City of Culture in 2021.
Reviews for Highly Sprung
“Highly Sprung’s Urban Astronaut takes us gracefully to a disparate future.”
“My nine-year old daughter was completely taken in by your performance. I could tell her about what’s going on with the planet again and again and it would just go over her head. What you’ve just done there, will stay with her forever.”
“We loved all of it! You don’t just watch it – you live it and feel it too.”
