Tender opportunities

Tender to provide City Host programme for UK City of Culture 2021

The Trust is looking to build a cohort of up to 5,000 City Hosts (working title) to help welcome up to 2.5m additional visitors to Coventry in 2021. Our City Hosts will be the face of 2021, welcoming visitors to the city, helping with wayfinding and recommending what’s on and where to visit. They will provide a crucial extra level of support for those with access needs. Our City Host programme will build on the proud history of volunteering already in Coventry and will look to support the voluntary sector and add capacity.

Through this programme, we will invest in initiatives that diversify the city’s volunteer workforce, to develop a gold standard City Hosts programme that ensures that everyone is made most welcome in our city.

We are now looking for an organisation to develop and deliver our City Host programme. The successful organisation should have immediate availability and the capacity and ambition to deliver an exemplary experience for both our City Hosts and visitors.

We are interested in hearing from organisations who can demonstrate experience of developing and managing volunteer programmes of scale.

Full details of the brief, role, evaluation criteria and application process can be found in the tender pack link below.

Proposals are to be submitted by email to recruitment@coventry2021.co.uk before 12pm on 25 May 2020.

The Unplugged Series – Arts Practitioners Needed

We are looking to appoint three arts practitioners to mentor thirty of Coventry’s young people over the course of eight weeks. The project, titled ‘The Unplugged Series’, will result in a digital showing of the young people’s artwork, as well as a physical exhibition once the lockdown measures have been lifted.

The three successful locally based practitioners will be from a range of art forms such as language, visual art and performing arts. To qualify for the call-out applicants will need two years’ workshop facilitation experience, experience of working with young people and the resources needed to deliver their workshops online. These requirements are vital to help develop the creative practice of 30 aspiring young artists.

Deadline extended to Monday 11 May.

Invitation of Interest in Public Realm Projects

As part of the UK City of Culture readiness programme and to fulfill the partnership legacy ambitions beyond 2021 – we are inviting all West Midlands, national (UK) and international creatives to submit their interest, proposals, and/or portfolio, in order to be considered within call-outs for current and upcoming public realm regeneration schemes, citywide redevelopment projects and cultural programmes.

The aim is to create a diverse catalogue/database of work and a register of interested artists that can be considered by Coventry City Council and the Coventry City of Culture Trust for future projects.

We are keen to engage local artists to help us create beautiful places for the people of Coventry in what promises to be an exciting year. The nature of the projects is varied and covers all elements of public realm, from garden projects to construction projects, from lighting to street art. We want to talk to you whatever your speciality and whatever your size. Projects will range in budget from very small to several hundred thousand pounds – and we want to invite you to become part of this journey during 2020 and as we progress into 2021.

For more information about the project and how to register interest, please see the full Invitation of Interest document.
