Job opportunities

Place Curator

As Coventry prepares to welcome millions of people to the city in 2021, the City Council and other partners are planning a regeneration programme that includes transport, highways and the public realm.  We are now looking for a Place Curator to join our team who can work closely with the City Council’s Highways and Regeneration teams to commission artists to be part of this infrastructure programme, to ensure a creative signature is inscribed across a wide range of planned capital works in the city.

You will develop strong working relationships with our key partners locally, regionally, nationally and internationally including Coventry City Council, planners, developers, architects, designers and construction teams, Coventry Business Improvement District, Coventry Youth Partnership, Coventry University, University of Warwick, Coventry College and the wider Business community.

You will be responsible for establishing a range of artistic interventions and commissioning artists from different art forms to help deliver truly inventive and playful projects.

Salary – Up to £45,000 gross pa dependent on experience

Digital Curator

We are looking for a Digital Curator to join our team, who can take the lead on inviting a range of artists to creatively apply new technologies across our programme, delivering some unique and distinctive collaborations, installations and ground-breaking programmes.

Coventry has always been a city of pioneers and its World Laboratory and 5G Test Bed status provides exciting opportunities for the City of Culture programme. We are especially keen to encourage collaboration between artists and technologists, working with disruptive technologies, to strengthen and develop communities and explore the role of culture in a modern and diverse city.

You will develop strong working relationships with our key partners locally, regionally, nationally and internationally including Coventry City Council, the Coventry and Warwickshire LEP, West Midlands Combined Authority, Coventry Business Improvement District, Coventry Youth Partnership, Coventry University, University of Warwick, Coventry College and the wider culture and business community.

You will be responsible for agreeing a range of artistic interventions, commissioning a range of artists to help deliver some inventive and playful projects and working with our team of producers to put digital and immersive technologies at the heart of our programme.

Salary – Up to £45,000 gross pa dependent on experience

Commercial Manager

We are looking for a Commercial Manager who will take the lead on and support initiatives and activities that develop the city’s venue and temporary event space infrastructure as well as the commerciality and trading of the Trust and our partners during 2021 and beyond.

This will involve close working relationships with the Chief Executive, Creative Director, Production Director, development team, marketing and campaigns team, City Council, the private sector and businesses.

Salary – Up to £32,000 gross pa dependent on experience

Research, Aggregation and Reporting Requirements – Scoping Study

We are looking to start conversations with research specialists around the prospect of implementing a single research platform.

This platform will gather primary research responses, aggregate the findings with other available and open source research data, and report upon it in a meaningful way for the Coventry City of Culture Trust, stakeholders and participating cultural partners.

Fixed fee – £4,500 + VAT available for this project

Coventry Visitor Accommodation Growth Study

We are seeking a consultant to undertake a visitor accommodation growth study.

This work is linked to a new Tourism Strategy and destination management plan, approved by Coventry City Council, and will inform future visitor accommodation growth in the city and efforts to improve standards of visitor accommodation in Coventry.
