Join in our celebration and exploration of Coventry’s hidden blue spaces and waterways.
Take a wander with free, family-friendly activities from the Canal & River Trust, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, Coventry City Council Parks Team, and Ludic Rooms.
As you can see below, there's a wide variety of fun activities for all ages and interests.

Visit Coventry Canal Basin on Friday 29 April for free storytelling and water-themed activities from the Canal & River Trust education boat – no booking necessary 10am – 3pm. There will also be a very special EP launch, Rites for Crossing Water, from electronic folk duo, Crewdson & Cevanne.
Welcome in the May Bank Holiday weekend with free music from The Village Butty.
On Saturday 30 April, join Roam + Dwell from Ludic Rooms in the Canal Basin from 10am – 4pm for free playful activities. Ludic Rooms is fascinated by folk cultures in the 21st Century, we will mark May Day with both traditional and tech-based versions of Maypole dancing, together with music, garland-making, yoga and robots!
Drop into free storytelling and craft sessions for all the family, or sign up for an ecology and heritage walk, have a go kayaking or join a cycle along the canal – there is something for everyone.

Do the Frog Walk!
Start at the Canal & River Trust Education boat with family workshops inspired by local artist Jack Foulks’ unique and signature frog design. Follow the self-guided frog trail along the canal towpath – and explore nature from a frog’s eye view.
Pick up your trail map - maps are available online, at Playwrights and the Canal & River Trust Visitor Centre.
Imagine four angels descended from heaven and decided to sing wonderful British folk songs with a contemporary twist, illuminating the lives of women past and present.
As part of WaterWAYS, Canal and River Trust invite you to learn to Canoe with Mercia Canoe Club at Coventry Canal Basin . All the equipment is provided, so all you need to do is book your free session and turn up on the day.
As part of WaterWAYS, learn to fish with the Canal and River Trust's team of professionally qualified and licensed angling coaches. All bait, equipment, permits and licence are provided. All you need to do is book in and turn up on time on the day.
The Muslim Hikers walk is taking place on Saturday 30 April with Muslim Hikers and Active Inclusion Network as part of WaterWAYS.
