Unapologetic is a pioneering new multi-art festival celebrating Brown women as joyful, strong, powerful and beautiful.

Highlights include:

  • Original comedy performance from TikTok sensation Prito Kaur - uncut, live and raw, with guests including spoken word poets
  • Nungi (bare): black and white photography exhibition showcasing 12 unapologetic Brown women exploring where power lies
  • An exhibition of new commissions by emerging and established visual artists from Coventry and Warwickshire
  • Daytime rave bringing song and dance to Coventry City Centre featuring an all-female line-up

Unapologetic has been co-created with local communities in Coventry. It is a ground-breaking festival representing visual arts, spoken word and activism. This festival provides space for Brown women to tell their own stories through multiple art forms and through the creation of new work.

Unapologetic aims to disrupt narratives around Brown women through a programme that is provocative, challenging and progressive. It also aims to provide a talent pipeline showcasing and supporting emerging talent.

Produced by Coventry City of Culture Trust and supported by funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.
