Try It! - Learn to play the Steelpan! is a 10-week course. No prior experience is required to join the course. We welcome you and your friends to have some fun and Try It!
Guideline Age Range: 18+

Learn to play the Steelplan with Impact Steelband. The Steelpan drumming club calls on adults from the age of 18 upwards. During the 10-week programme, you will learn:
- The historical and cultural significance of the instrument
- How a ‘Pan’ is made and tuned
- The different types of Steelpan and the most exciting part, how to play a piece of music on the Steelpan
The Impact Steelband workshop is a great way for you to learn a new instrument, while communicating with your fellow group members, understanding each playing role within the group, with the two ultimate goals of playing music together and having lots of fun doing it!!!
