WITH ARMONICO CONSORT, PATRICK STOCKBRIDGE

Join the Coventry Wellness Choir which is all about having fun and connecting with people through singing.

Coventry Wellness Choir is focused on the benefits of singing for both physical and mental wellbeing. It is aimed at adults (over 18) who may have been feeling isolated or lonely during periods of lockdown and is all about having fun and connecting.

with people through music. Each week, our experienced choir leader will incorporate a physical and vocal warm up then teach one or two songs to create a happy and positive atmosphere. No experience of singing is necessary and you will leave the session feeling energised, relaxed and happy. The benefits of music have long been researched and it is now well-established that singing:

  • Helps forge social bonds
  • Improves our sense of happiness and wellbeing
  • Helps overcome isolation
  • Reduces anxiety and depression
  • Improves lung capacity

At the end of the project, you will perform to family and friends in the form of a Big Sing, where the audience are encouraged to join in with some of the songs.

  • WEEKLY MEET UP: THURSDAYS
  • START DATE: 7 OCTOBER 2021
  • TIME: 10.30am - 11.30am
  • VENUE: METHODIST CENTRAL HALL, CV1 2HA

Tickets cost £2 per person or £3 for two people (bring a buddy!)

WHAT IS TRY IT?

Try It! is a programme encouraging Coventry residents to have a go at a range of new, and often quirky, health-giving creative activities during our year as UK City of Culture.

We believe in social prescribing – the idea that, by taking part in community activities, we can all improve our health and wellbeing.

This project aims to enhance the lives of community members and leave a lasting legacy of creative activities in Coventry.

For each workshop, you can book tickets online or pay at the door.
