Faith culminates with a ceremony to come together and experience the power and multiple meanings of light. Audiences will be invited to gather at dusk in millennium square to light one of 500 flames to create a final tapestry of lights in the city centre and to take part in a unique pledge to walk forward together, in knowledge and in hope.

Faith is co-produced by Coventry City of Culture Trust and the Royal Shakespeare Company with City Voices and Coventry faith communities.

Supported by Backstage Trust and David and Sandra Burbidge

The City Voices programme was devised and created by Theatre Absolute in 2019, in partnership with Coventry City of Culture Trust

You can experience the Faith project in lots of different ways; you can visit one of the faith centres taking part in Open House throughout the day on Saturday, follow the ribbon route through the city between the participating faith centres, book for one or more of the live promenade shows (one hour each, starting in different locations across Coventry from 10.30am to 5.30pm), or join in the Ceremony of Light on Saturday evening.  The plays tell the stories of important moments in everyday life – from birth to love to death and how Coventry families find the faith to get through them, and find joy and hope in their city. You will be able to watch all four live shows from your home, or on a mobile device, as they are livestreamed online on social media from 10.30am to 6.30pm.
