Would you like to be the first-ever Coventry Poet Laureate?

As part of the BBC Contains Strong Language Festival Coventry 2021, Coventry Library Service and Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 are looking for a poet to represent the city from September 2021 until September 2023.

To help you get ready to apply, the poet Roy McFarlane will be running a free poetry writing workshop. He’ll have lots of tips about writing poetry about Coventry and there will be lots of information about the scheme.

The event will run online and will be limited to twenty places. Bring along something to write on and something to write with.

You must be 18 years or older old on 31st August 2021 to attend. We welcome people who are neurodiverse, have learning difficulties or with disabilities.

This online session will include closed captions.
