The Artist On My Street exhibition celebrates the Coventry Artspace project that was delivered between August 2021 and April 2022 during Coventry’s year as UK City of Culture. Twenty one artists shared original and unique work in local venues across Coventry suburbs, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon and Bedworth. The selected artists also received development support to help them with creating the work and progressing their careers. 

All are welcome to attend Arcadia Gallery for the opening event on the evening of the 26th May (from 6pm) to see images and examples of work from all the artists, brought together for the Artist On My Street installation. The exhibition will then be open 12-5pm until the 11th June (not Sundays).

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Artist On My Street was inspired by artists all over the world who found ways to bring moments of connection, relief and hope to people in their neighbourhood during long days of Lockdown and Covid-19 restrictions by sharing work in their windows and locality. 

The ECHOES audio app was used to enable anyone seeing an artwork to hear the artist speak about their practice and the piece they had created for Artist On My Street. The project was led by Coventry Artspace Lead Producer, Sophie Clausen. The recordings will all be played in the exhibition at Arcadia.
