What does the City of Culture in 2021 mean to us…

Born and bred in Coventry we have always been proud of our city.  When others chose to move away we stayed in the city we are proud to call home.

Since starting our business we’ve made a conscious decision to try and stay local. We know Coventry is going places and we want to make sure that we are part of that.

Coventry has such a wealth of history, culture and talent and now is our time to shine and show the whole country what we have to offer.

Here are our 3 favourite places to visit in Coventry…

Coombe Country Park

We visit this beautiful park on a regular basis with our children. It holds a special place in our heart as it was the place where we decided to set out in business together during the summer of 2015.

The park has over 500 acres of gardens and woodlands, we often take a picnic or a BBQ with us when we visit and will spend hours admiring this beautiful place. There’s also the opportunity for lots of other activities, take a look at the website to find out more information.

Beautiful Bayley Lane

This beautiful Lane in the city has so much to offer. There are places to drink and eat. You can visit the stunning Cathedral and the wonderful St Mary’s Guildhall. A venue which always brings out our romantic side as both of us has visited the building many times for weddings and events.

Herbert Art Gallery & Museum

A fantastic building that is more than a museum. Many years ago Emma’s Nan (a local artist) exhibited here. One of her pictures was a painting of Emma. How cool is that?!

We’re also very proud to be part of the #Covhourlive team. We hosted our first event at the Herbert Art Gallery back in June 2017 and it was a fantastic evening in a fantastic venue.

We believe that being the City of Culture in 2021 will have many benefits for our city. As a local business, we look forward to seeing our economy boom and forming partnerships with other local businesses.

We’re really excited to hear the plans that the Coventry Business Improvement District have for the city centre and the development of the restaurant quarter at Cathedral Lanes.

We have also promised ourselves a stay at the old Coventry Telegraph offices once that is transformed into a boutique hotel.

We believe there’s no better place to live and work.  We will be doing all we can to promote what’s going on in our city over the coming years.

As our footy team once sang… “Go For It City, Sky Blues…Shooting To Win”.
